ST. FATHER PIO / ST. PADRE PIO OF PETRALCINA

Day 1: Arrival – San Giovanni Rotondo / Coast area
Arrival at Rome Airport and transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo. Free time, dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Pietralcina – San Giovanni Rotondo
After breakfast departure for Pietralcina, Father Pio’s birth place. Visit of the birth house and to his Parrish. Lunch at restaurant. Transfer to San Giovanni Rotondo in the afternoon to visit the Sanctuary of Saint Mary of the Grace, the Crypt with Father Pio’s grave, Father Pio’s cell, the Via Crucis and visit to the yard of the new sanctuary designed by the famous architect Renzo Piano. Return to our hotel in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: San Giovanni Rotondo – Monte Sant’Angelo
After breakfast departure for Monte Sant’Angelo. Perched almost 800 m. up in the highest and coldest settlement of Apulia. Pilgrims have trudged up the swichback paths and roads for centuries to visit the spot where archangel Michael is said to have made four separate appearances, making the sanctuary here one of the earliest Christian shrines in Europe and one of the most important in Italy and from where there is a great view over the Peninsula Gargano; visit to St. Michele Arcangelo Sanctuary and to the Cave. Leisure time for shopping. In the evening return to our hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Gargano Peninsula
After breakfast departure to visit the main sites and fisher villages of the Gargano: Mattinata, Pugnochiuso, Arco di San Felice, Peschici and Vieste. Return to our Hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Departure
After breakfast transfer to Rome Airport.
